Head of Cloud Infrastructure

XYZ Reality is a construction tech start-up based in London and is currently looking for a talented, passionate, and experienced Head of Cloud Infrastructure.- XYZ is on a path to revolutionise the construction industry with custom augmented reality hardware and innovative software. Our Team are highly motivated, professionally qualified engineers specialising in industrial and mechanical design, software, and electronic design and manufacture. The quality and innovativeness of the products we design are critical to our customers and our company.
- As a Head of Cloud Infrastructure, you will be responsible for running our Global Cloud Services Engineering function. The role requires broad Engineering, Thought and People leadership to convert our Cloud vision into reality. The role has a major emphasis on architecture, implementation, communication, and leadership.Key Responsibilities
- Run Engineering functions, including managing people and a team across multiple geographies; an understanding of modern Application design,
- Knowledge and Experience with Agile project delivery methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban,
- Gathering & “negotiating” clear requirements and specifications for features,
- Providing best estimates of tasks required to deliver the features,
- Supporting, challenging and building consensus on design directions/decisions to ensure they are viable from a Cloud perspective.
- Ability to work in a constantly evolving and dynamic environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study,
- 5+ years of professional experience in Backend (Java),
- 5+ years of experience working on any front-end technology (React, Angular, etc.),
- Exposure to Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Service (AWS), etc.),
- Extensive experience with Cloud services and their infrastructure requirements and working with Terraform, Sentinel or Prisma,
- Experience running an Engineering function, including managing people and a team across multiple geographies; an understanding of modern Application design,
- Experience in the latest automated testing methodologies and CI/CD processes, including but not limited to Jenkins and GitHub Actions,
- Experience with SRE or similar reliability-based operating models, engaging and interacting with senior Technology leaders across an enterprise,
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Security concepts and trends and modern networks/networking designs and trends,
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
