An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Therapy Assistant Practitioner within the newly formed SCI outreach service based at SRFT working collaboratively with Southport Spinal Cord Injury Centre. This team has been formed as part of the NHSE/I commitment to improving and transforming the lifelong care of patients with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).

The team will provide support to SCI patients within the inpatient hospital settings across Greater Manchester, to work alongside Southport SCI outreach team to ensure equitable provision of care for patients following SCI.

They will support the SCI outreach MDT, in the delivery of assessment, exercise and activity programmes, assessment, education and advice to patients, other professionals, families and carers.
- To assist the delivery of the spinal cord injury outreach service for Greater Manchester in collaboration with Southport SCIC outreach team
- To assist the registered professionals including Consultant, specialist nurses, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist in the implementation, delivery and evaluation of assessments, rehabilitation and education programmes for in-patients and out-patients with SCI across Greater Manchester.
- To use technical and creative skills in the provision of rehabilitative activities for individual patients and will be responsible for evaluating and amending treatment programmes and interventions with guidance from the registered AHP professionals
- To take a lead in provision and retrieval, stock take, maintenance and monitoring of specialist seating, wheelchairs and associated resources allocated to the SCI outreach service
- To assist in delivery and set up of rehabilitation equipment for patients with SCI
