Trainee Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist - for Cornwall Locality CAMHS. This is a Health Education England funded post, which will potentially include both pre-clinical (2 years) and clinical training (4 years).

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Foundation Trust is excited to be able to offer a new clinical training posts for Child and Adolescent psychotherapy. This post is funded by Health Education England.

We are looking for a trainee with curiosity about psychoanalytic thinking, an outward looking countenance, and a commitment to improving the lives of infants, children, young people, and their families.

This is an exciting time to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Cornwall as we are seeking to expand our Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy team.

The funding for this training post extends for up to six-years, with the potential to cover two years of pre-clinical and four years of clinical training. This includes: tuition fees for up to six-years; fulltime salary from year two of the preclinical training (the Assistant Year); and a contribution to travel, accommodation and analytic expenses.

An applicant for the full six-years of training will be expected to remain in their current employment for the first pre-clinical year. In the second pre-clinical year they will take up posts as Assistant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists (Band 6) within either Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly mainstream community CAMHS or Thriving Together. Fees for personal psychoanalysis, will be provided in the second pre-clinical year. Those who have already completed the first year of pre-clinical learning will be in a position to commence the Assistant post.

Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training requires long-distance travel and a commitment to being regularly away from home. This is because personal psychoanalysis and the clinical training will take place in London.
