This is a senior leadership role within the Trust and will provide expert knowledge, leadership and professional advice with support from a committed and dynamic safeguarding team.

To represent the Trust by attending and advising Partnership Boards and lead on the resolution of complex operational interface issues in relation to safeguarding and public protection.

To provide assurance across the Trust governance structures and to partnerships through section 11 audits, safeguarding assurance framework and CQC standards

To provide leadership at all levels of the Trust, ensuring that the relevant corporate safeguarding objectives inform all aspects of decision making

To enable Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and its staff to fulfil their statutory duties under the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, and “Working Together to Safeguard Children” (2010)

To safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people who use the Trust’s services, or who are in the care of service users, and other children and young people who come into contact with the Trust’s services or visit our premises.

To ensure that children, young people and adults at risk of abuse benefit from a culture of effective multi-agency working and information sharing.

To be responsible for the direct management of the Named Professionals and to provide leadership and direction across the service to drive improvements and a culture of learning
