AWE is currently recruiting for a Compliance Specialist to join our growing team.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area
**Salary**: £42000 - £66,400 based on experience.
As the Compliance Specialist you will provide specialist support to the Supply Chain Management (“SCM”) function, focussing on contractual drafting, risk management, audits and other compliance activity. You’ll proactively recognise emerging trends and provide innovative solutions in a unique environment to support an exciting and vast programme.
What will you be responsible for?
- Drafting contractual terms and conditions and assist with negotiations within SCM to best manage commercial and legal risk
- Support on all stages of a procurement lifecycle, including development of tender documents, in
- life contractual management and reporting, and management of contract close out
- Help produce and update a library of clauses and standard contract templates, ensuring compliance with mandatory flow down terms, whilst maintaining an awareness of legal matters and developments outside of AWE and informing of changes to legislation/regulations
- Assist SCM to demonstrate effective control of risk, ensuring compliance with governance procedures and promoting awareness of the public procurement regulations
- Help develop a framework within AWE to best identify external and internal opportunities, whilst driving continued awareness and understanding of value for money
- Shape and develop audit activity to assist in risk mitigation, promote best practice and demonstrate compliance with external regulations and policies
- Support on specific supplier risk activity, including financial health checks, supply chain mapping, and investigation of wider industry trends where required
To be successful in this role you will provide technical expertise in one or more of the following specialisms:
- Contract drafting
- Contract lifecycle management
- Compliance with process & governance, ideally in an environment regulated by public procurement regulations
- Realise opportunities for savings and efficiencies
- Identification and management of risks and opportunities within area of accountability
- Developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and promoting awareness of the Supply Chain Management function
