Nearly 3,200 full and part-time practitioners care for our service users in hospitals, in the community and in their own homes, whilst an additional 900+ staff provide non-clinical support, including cleaning, delivering supplies, ward administration, information technology, human resources and financial services.
We are committed to delivering quality driven mental health services. Every individual makes a valuable contribution. We are proud of our staff who have been commended for the care they provide. Do you value working positively, respectfully and together? If so, we’d love you to join us

JOB DESCRIPTION/PERSON SPECIFICATION
YOUR APPLICATION
**Job overview**:
**Is a role where you can provide a safe and calm space for people suffering from mental health crisis appealing to you? We’re looking for motivated, compassionate individuals to join our expanding First Response Service.**
The First Response Service is a helpline for people of all ages in Norfolk and Suffolk who need urgent mental health support. Our dedicated helpline is available all day, every day, and we’re not establishing a Norfolk hub base in Norwich. It is the ideal time to join as you’ll be able to help us shape and develop the service as it grows.
We are looking for people who see challenges as opportunities and will have the ability to influence, inspire and energise others, as well as work with people’s strengths to make an all-round better working environment.
We are committed to developing people professionally and are keen to support individuals who are looking to take their first step into a more senior role.
**Main duties of the job**:
Our vision is to ensure that all service users, carers and professionals have access to a crisis service 24/7 that can provide support, advice and assessment in a compassionate, patient and recovery focused way. We believe that crisis is self-determined by the person or people experiencing the situation and that this requires an empathetic and non-judgmental approach, which holds those experiencing the crisis at the very centre.
Joining us as a senior crisis care practitioner, you can play a key role in turning our vision into reality
**We want to talk to enthusiastic and caring Practitioners **with experience of working within a mental health setting. We want people who are passionate about crisis work and ensuring safe and effective interventions are delivered to service users, their families and other professionals. We would welcome a passionate and skilful clinician who empowers others and be able to support a culture of change within crisis and who have the enthusiasm to undertake additional training as part of our staff training programme for crisis. You may feel you want a change from working in an inpatient setting but want to remain on a 24/7 shift pattern.
No two days will be the same; you will have the opportunity to co-coordinate shifts, provide clinical oversight and support to practitioners, support with teaching and training opportunities, leading on staff development and be a visible role model that echoes the values of the trust and the vision of the service.
**Working for our organisation**:
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
**Why work for us?** We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.
**Why Norfolk and Suffolk?** The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
