**The Priory Kalmia & Mallow**are looking to recruit a **Support Worker** to join their team at their site based in Watton, Thetford.
- ** Full Time, Permanent contract**:

- ** Hourly Pay: £13.20 p/hour**:

- ** 36-48hrs p/week (Spread across 12-hour shifts from 08:00 - 20:00)**:

- ** Shift Rota**:You will be rotating between working X3 shifts in week 1 and X4 shifts in week 2. When working a X4 shift week, you will always have 2 of these on a Saturday & Sunday as alternating weekends are required.**

Kalmia and Mallow is located in the town of Watton, Norfolk. It offers residential support for 13 people who are on the autism spectrum or have a learning disability, who may also have complex needs. We are located off the main road into Watton. Our team are dedicated to providing the people we care for with opportunities to enjoy a wide range of social and recreational activities. We want to encourage our residents to live as independently as possible so they can achieve the best possible outcomes.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

**What you'll be doing**

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our **residents** wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

As a **Support Worker**, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.**
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
- Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
- Empathy, understanding and patience

- The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
- Competent in verbal and written English
- A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
