Senior Solutions Architect

At **National Car Parks** we are looking to recruit for a Senior Solutions Architect to lead the enhancement and development of our IT systems to create a platform for future growth. Additionally, the Senior Solution Architect will responsiblefor identifying and implementing innovative technology enabling NCP to establish and maintain a set of joined up, market leading products which will set the standard in our sector.

Finally, the Senior Solution Architect will be expected to contribute to the sales and new business process by representing NCP in technology discussions with prospects and customers. An ability to engage at all levels within NCP and across our customerbase will be a role defining skill.

**Some Of Your Other responsibilities will include**:

- Support the IT director to create the NCP technology architectural road map, identifying the business and commercial drivers and creating appropriate technological responses to make (and then keep) our technology offering best in class.
- Work closely with NCP Directors and the Senior Leadership Team in developing business strategy. Translation of the business strategy into a set of technology deliverables.
- Work closely with our suppliers to maintain an up to date view of the functionality and limitations in their current and future product sets. Influence the development road maps of these suppliers to prioritise functionality which is useful to NCP and ensurethat this functionality is delivered as a top priority.
- Engage with developers of innovative technology, inside and outside the sector, and assess how their thinking could be applied to create opportunity for us in the short, medium and long terms.
- Work in conjunction with the senior leadership in IT to ensure that both Service Delivery and Project Delivery are properly engaged in the strategic development of our technology platform.
- Provide solution design support to underpin the successful delivery of the Technology, Operational and Commercial elements of all NCP projects. This means both ensuring that the projects deliver in line with the architectural road map, and also offeringpractical advice to ensure that projects deliver quickly and that customer expectations are exceeded.

The role holder may be asked to undertake other duties, as required, which are not necessarily specified in this role profile, but which are commensurate with the grade for this role. It may be amended from time to time within the scope and general levelof responsibility attached to this role.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledgeable about all phases of the software development life cycle and solution delivery for web, client-server, and cloud-based systems.
- Good knowledge of modern software engineering principles and best practices.
- Proven track record of work experience as an architect, project manager, or developer.
- Commercial orientation to the provision of technology services, ideally in the retail or FMCG sector.
- Current technical knowledge of Windows server, Unix Server, SQL and Oracle database, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Mobile, LAMP stack, Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Analytics, OLAP, SAN and VMWare technologies to a level to be able to validate and challenge suppliertechnology proposals.
- Knowledge and experience of integration with equipment and IOT devices is a plus.
- Experienced in design, management and support of complex architectural models and technology platform governance.
- Experience in design, establishment of systems and business processes.
- Experience of transforming technology environments to create market leading products and services.
- Experience of working with legacy technology estates and evolving them into state of the art environments. This will also include simplification and standardisation of technology, virtualisation, centralisation, consolidation of distributed services, designfor resilience and platform governance.
