We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Team Leader to work within the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT) in Oldham.
The post holder will be instrumental in initiating and leading change, and embrace the responsibility of professional leadership and advice, in both the development and coordination of Children's Community Nursing services across a range of teams and clinical networks.
**Main duties of the job**:
The Children’s Community Nursing Team Leader will provide clear professional clinical leadership, governance and operational management to the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT).
The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the Operational day to day management of the CCNT and will work in partnership with other services to maintain an integrated children’s service.
The post holder will be instrumental in leading change, and embrace the responsibility of professional leadership and advice, in both the development and coordination of children’s community nursing services across a range of teams and clinical networks. They will participate and contribute to the ongoing strategic development of Children’s Community nursing in response to local, regional and national directives.
The postholder will work with children’s acute & complex care providers in the community, implementing systems and processes to provide high quality standardised service delivery.
In addition the post holder will provide a flexible and accessible service that is responsive to the needs of the child, young people and their family, whilst taking part in 24 hour on call rota for end of life care provision.

As a designated major trauma unit for Greater Manchester and one of only three vascular centres in Greater Manchester, Oldham is a specialist hospital for acute surgery and provides state-of-the-art onsite pathology services to the North West.
The CCNT provides care closer to home for babies, children and young people across the Oldham area who have a diagnosis of a short term/acute illness; chronic/long term conditions; complex and additional health needs and end of life care. The postholder will work as part of the CCNT, working closely with key stakeholder partners from community, acute secondary and tertiary settings, local authority and the voluntary sector.

The post holder will be responsible in providing operational leadership to all Children’s Community nursing staff within the Service, support and guide staff with caseload management, mentoring and developing the workforce to meet the changing needs of the patients on the caseload.

**Registration / Professional Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:
- RN (Child) or equivalent
- Educated to degree level
- Specialist Community practitioner qualification (or evidence of significant post registration experience in a community setting).
- Evidence of Continued professional development relevant to the post, including mentoring of students.
**Desirable criteria**:
- Educated to a master’s Level
- V300 Independent Nurse prescribing qualification or evidence of working towards / willingness to work towards
**Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience**:

- Substantial post registration experience at band 6.
- Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner
- Evidence of clinical knowledge and relevant experience in managing care for children & young with both acute and chronic illnesses
- Experience of managing own caseload
- Evidence of communication and collaborative working across organisational boundaries
- Ability to motivate self and others
- Clear understanding of governance
