**Job Title**:Lead Project Professional - DAP

**Salary**:£42,315 + depending on experience

**What you’ll be doing**:
The primary focus for the roles will be working closely with nominated BAES Suppliers, in order to accelerate key deliveries, and at the same time help the Suppliers to improve their Project Management capability in a sustainable way. This is done by analysing their current strengths and shortcomings, designing a targeted improvement programme to enable the required levels of acceleration and improvement, and then delivering the agreed improvement programme over a six-month window. This then leaves the chosen Suppliers in a position of improved capability, which they can then embed and sustain.
- Completion of a PM Capability Assessment with selected suppliers (a standard framework is provided, aligned to APM).
- Diagnosis of existing supplier schedules, processes and methods to identify bottlenecks, improvements and acceleration opportunities.
- Establishment of 6, 12 and 18 Month delivery and capability targets.
- Gap analysis, Training Needs Analysis, creation of training materials and training delivery as per plan.
- Ownership of working group sessions, presentation materials and reporting as per agreed Governance & Control arrangements.
- Support Key Supplier Managers in managing the collaborative team (BAE and Supplier) towards delivery of agreed targets covering both PM Capability and Supplier delivery performance.
- Design of a follow-on sustainability plan.

**Your skills and experiences**:

- Experience and knowledge in Project Management and Project Controls,
- Commercial acumen
- Excellent coaching, transformation and communication skills.
- Application of related PM Competencies is expected.
- Roles typically require a University degree or a substantial amount of practical knowledge gained through relevant experience.
- Expected to have a PM Qualification such as the APM PMQ.

**The Dreadnought Accelerator Project team**:
The vacancy is within the Dreadnought Accelerator Project, which is a team of project management professionals embedded within the Submarines Supply Chain Function. The primary focus for the roles will be working closely with nominated BAES Suppliers, in order to accelerate key deliveries, and at the same time help the Suppliers to improve their Project Management capability in a sustainable way. This is done by analysing their current strengths and shortcomings, designing a targeted improvement programme to enable the required levels of acceleration and improvement, and then delivering the agreed improvement programme over a six month window. This then leaves the chosen Suppliers in a position of improved capability which they can then embed and sustain.

Our Project Leads will work collaboratively with Supply Chain Key Supplier Managers and Continuous Improvement Professionals to diagnose, quantify and collaboratively deliver improvements. The work requires experience and knowledge in Project Management and Project Controls, commercial acumen and excellent coaching, transformation and communication skills. BAE Systems has a proven Project Controls Framework which is used to provide guidance, standards, templates and training, key to success in the role is then tailoring a framework to provide a suitable project controls environment for each supplier, with appropriate training and coaching.
