We are a well-established growing business that supplies specialist plant hire for large-scale rail and road government infrastructure projects across the UK.
You will be a member of our busy Finance and Administration team based at our headquarters in Partridge Green, near Horsham in West Sussex. The position has arisen within our Finance team due to internal progression within the team. You will be working to support our Finance Manager in a lovely open-plan office within our main building, and with free parking on-site. In applying, you should ensure you would be able to travel to our offices, as there is limited public transport.
You will use Sage 50 Accounts and Excel to perform the majority of your duties as well as working with our Job Management system and other industry-specific software programmes that we use to support our operations.

**Key Duties**:
- Overseeing Sales and Purchase Ledgers ensuring accuracy of processing and data posted onto Sage 50 Accounts
- Preparing regular Excel format Customer Statements for key customers and Sales Ledger credit control as required (compact ledger), ensuring any customer queries are responded to by the team
- Preparing adhoc Sales Invoices as required
- Working with Nominal Ledger control accounts, including reconciling and analysis to ensure integrity of balances at all times
- Posting regular journals including for inputting costs such as payroll and prepayments and accruals
- Ensuring monthly completion of data entry and cut-offs ready for preparation of timely monthly management information and annual accounts
- Assist Finance Manager with preparation of monthly management information and preparation for annual accounts
- Ensuring all data has been entered ready for monthly VAT returns
- Ability to work with data - we will be moving towards extracting data from our Job Management system for much of our sales and payroll processing - it is essential to be able to work with data, both extracting and importing as well as analysing/manipulating
- Primary responsibility for payroll processing using Sage Payroll and knowledge of CIS would be beneficial
- The Finance and Administration team work as a multi-functional team to ensure cover and support
- The role will include working with other departments across the business including the Contracts Managers who manage our various operational sites based across the UK
- You may be required to undertake other duties as required
- Working towards Company Objectives and within Company Policies including Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety
- Support our ISO certifications, by maintaining good records and recording information where necessary
**Key skills and competencies**:
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Work accurately and efficiently - attention to detail is essential
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Highly organized and the ability to work under pressure
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Sage 50 Accounts
- Experienced in using Outlook and Word, and ability to quickly learn other software programmes used across the business, including our Job Management system
- Experience of payroll ideally using Sage Payroll
- Ability to work with data, both extracting and importing as well as analysing/manipulating
- Ability to problem solve and drive improvement and progression across the team and processes
- Experience of working in a medium sized business and as part of a team
**Hours and Salary**:
This is a full-time role. Salary dependent upon skills and experience.
