Applications are invited for a post in the Orthopaedic Department at the Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust. The Orthopaedic Department is expanding with the opening of the new Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre at Maidstone Hospital, that will provide elective orthopaedic services to the population of Kent and Medway.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Paediatric Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator within the Trauma and Orthopaedic department
This is a busy, varied and challenging role where you will be specialising in our Paediatric Orthopaedic Service. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and booking outpatient clinics.
The post holder will also be responsible for booking Orthopaedic outpatient clinics at Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone Hospital; which will require the need for some cross site.
Essential skills for this role include an excellent telephone manner, working using own initiative, excellent communication with patients and clinical staff, outstanding organisation and time management and competent in using Microsoft Office packages with good keyboard skills.
The role will be based at Maidstone however cross site working will be required throughout the month due to the nature of some of the admin tasks
You will have excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills with the ability to work with a positive and solution focused attitude, to ensure clinics are booked effectively and patients are managed appropriately along their pathway.
Clinic appointments and knowledge of patient waiting lists would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
Applicants will ideally have previous NHS or healthcare experience (though this is not necessary) and administration experience. Knowledge of systems such as Allscripts and Medirota would be beneficial though training will be given.
