Crystallisation Team Leader (Physical Sciences) Templarfox are working with a large global pharmaceutical business to recruit a Crystallisation Team Leader (Physical Sciences) on a permanent basis based in Northern Ireland. The role will manage and lead a small team responsible for leading API scale up to crystallisation from chemistry and into physical sciences within early drug development. You will lead project teams to ensure new API projects are safely and effectively scaled up and integrated into the organisation within the regulatory and customer quality requirements and scale up into cGMP facilities. Responsibilities - Provide leadership and scientific direction to direct reports. Including the provision of mentoring and development opportunities to facilitate progression opportunities for colleagues - To demonstrate expertise in the technical aspects of crystallization process development. - To provide appropriate expertise in solid state chemistry and pharmaceutically relevant isolation technologies. - To demonstrate excellent understanding of internal procedures and regulatory aspects of the role. - To maintain current knowledge of technical activities and advancements in pharmaceutically relevant crystallization and product isolation technology related to the job and actively contribute to the implementation of best practices. - To support chemistry, kilo-lab, and plant operations from gram to multi-kilo scale. - Ensure manufacturing upsets are promptly investigated, seeking support from senior colleagues as appropriate. - To actively participate in customer visits and audits and to give presentations where necessary. - To assist the BD team with technical input for the generation of quotations and change orders as required. - To support the technical aspects of sales activities as required. - To demonstrate an understanding of the drug development process.
Requirements - PhD in Organic Chemistry plus significant experience in the development of crystallisation processes and transfer to manufacture with cGMP. - Project Management - Experience in taking a technical leadership role across several complex crystallisation projects in parallel - Solid understanding of the principles behind process development and crystallisation scaleup with ability to problem solve scale up issues. - Troubleshooting: Ability to find innovative and pragmatic solutions - Understanding of the SHEQ challenges for both laboratory and plant operations - Knowledge of quality systems GMP, and ISO9001 This is fantastic opportunity to join a growing contract manufacturing business and in return they are offering a competitive package and the opportunity to be a site leader through being the Crystallisation Team Leader.
