Specialist Practitioner for Domestic Abuse Band 7, 37.5 hours per week

This is a diverse health role to support the identification and responsiveness for victims of domestic violence and abuse across the life course who are accessing health services. Embedding a culture of ‘Making Every Contact Count’ Working closely with multi agency colleagues in both statutory and third sector services to ensure victims and their families are safeguarded. The post holder will contribute to both patient centred work and the management of complex domestic abuse cases, and also implementing strategic and cultural change to improve outcomes for services working with those experiencing Domestic Abuse.

The post holder will support the wider safeguarding team in ensuring that safeguarding processes are in line with national standards, as well as undertaking audits and practice evaluation to provide assurance to the Board that safeguarding systems are meeting the needs of adults, children and young people.
- Work as a member of the wider Safeguarding team, contributing information to enable an overall understanding of the safety and quality of the care provided across the organisations
- Contribute to the delivery of the annual safeguarding work plan across the organisation.
- Liaise with key partners across the Police, Social Care services, and Domestic Abuse specialists in both statutory and voluntary agencies
- Contribute to safeguarding leadership across the organisation, with a focus on domestic abuse specialism
- Support all activities necessary to ensure that the organisation meets its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children, young people and adults at risk of domestic abuse or exposed to domestic abuse.
- Support the work of and development of MARAC and DVDS processes, ensuring appropriate NCIC attendance, information sharing and actions.
