- **Roles and Responsibilities**_
- _**Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental**_
- **Policy Implementation**: Assist in developing and implementing QHSE policies and procedures to promote a company-wide safety culture and a healthy work environment.
- **Site Audits & Inspections**: Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify hazards, risks, non-conformances, and opportunities for improvement (OFIs). Travel to site at least once per month to conduct audits will be expected.
- **Support & Training**: Provide guidance on QHSE matters, helping with the development and delivery of monthly training sessions and issuing safety bulletins.
- **Incident Investigation**: Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, determining root causes, and coordinating corrective and preventative actions.
- **Reporting**: Produce timely and accurate QHSE reports, including Monthly Management Reports
- _ **QHSE Committee**: Support and participate in QHSE Committee meetings, ensuring that actions are tracked, communicated, and closed out.
- **Toolbox Talks**: Assist in coordinating weekly Toolbox Talks to reinforce safety messages and raise awareness among employees about potential hazards, proper procedures, and company policies.
- **Vehicle & Site Records**: Compile Weekly Vehicle Checklists from site teams and maintain accurate records of daily site whereabouts and man hours.
- **Equipment Management**: Ensure all equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Stay informed about current legislative requirements, updating policies and procedures as needed, and ensure compliance across the business.
- **Risk Assessments**: Assist in conducting and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMs) with office, project, and site teams to identify hazards and plan safety measures.
- **COSHH & Safe Work Instructions**: Liaise with project teams to issue and update safe work instructions and ensure COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments are current.
- **Training Matrix Management**: Help manage the Training Matrix by reviewing staff training needs and arranging mandatory training for all employees.
- **QHSE Inductions**: Conduct QHSE inductions for all new employees and subcontractors.
- **Certification Maintenance**: Assist in maintaining certifications such as Constructionline, NICEIC, Achilles, and CHAS, ensuring they are consistently upheld.
- **Emergency Preparedness**: Support the management of the Emergency Preparedness & Response process.
- _**BMS Management**_
- **BMS Support**: Help maintain the Business Management System (BMS) in compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
- **Training & Inductions**: Assist with the induction and training of new employees on BMS processes.
- **Internal Audits**: Conduct internal audits of the BMS processes to ensure understanding and compliance across teams.
- **Audit Support**: Assist in external audits by providing support to the Management Representative and auditors.
- **Non-Conformance Reporting**: Alert senior management to serious non-conformances and persistent risks, and help propose preventative and corrective actions.
- **Annual Review**: Assist in preparing and facilitating the annual BMS Management Review.
- **Essential Criteria**:_
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Technical membership of IOSH or equivalent professional body.
- Environmental Management qualification (such as IEMA).
- Sound knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as QHSE Coordinator in the construction and utilities sector.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold certifications such as Constructionline, NICEIC, Achilles and CHAS.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in driving QHSE performance across multi-disciplinary teams.
- **Desirable Criteria**:_
- First Aid (level 3)
- Fire Warden
- Confined Space Awareness
- Manual Handling
