**Production Team Leader**

**Saint Gobain Industrial Ceramics - Based in Rainford, St Helens**

**Monday to Friday - No shift working**

The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate the department and lead, ensuring all team members understand their contributions required. The Team Leader will be responsible for delivering the production plan for the area of responsibility while coordinating the daily and weekly performance of the team. We are looking for an accomplished and supportive Team Leader able to lead a team of up to 17 production staff in a fast paced, manufacturing environment ensuring safety within the department, and the achievement of production goals. An experienced Team Leader capable of contributing to the delivery of continuous improvement and lean practices across the site while leader a team situationally.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Attends weekly/daily Production meetings to discuss achievement of production plans, and short falls and corrective actions where required.
- Monitors the standards of performance within the team to ensure quality and OTIF (On Time In Full) is achieved.
- Updates the production backlog on a daily basis
- Contribute to the development of a ‘behavioural safety’ culture by ensuring the team record all accidents and near misses and actively take part in hazard spotting, SMAT discussions, and other safety initiatives while conducting safety audits as required.
- Monitoring and updating of SOP’s and Risk Assessments
- Continuous Improvement is an ongoing concern through Quick kaizen projects and also supporting he site CI Engineer with broader lean and continuous improvement projects.
- Runs the Daily Control meetings within the department to communicate daily plans and issues.
- Ensures department works to and performs monthly 5S audits
- Works closely with other departments with regard to manning and any quality concerns
- Stand in Pattern inspection role for plaster shop and Green inspection role for Cast Department
- Ensure compliance with Saint-Gobain company policies and procedures (Health, Safety, Environment, quality, and HR)

**What kind of person are we looking for?**
- Good levels of numeracy and literacy would be required.
- Moderate level of IT skills
- Continuous Improvement / lean / Six Sigma qualification OR experience
- Safety Awareness
- Risk Assessment and Risk Control knowledge
- Proven experience in leading a team in a busy production environment, delivering and achieving production plans, goals, and objectives.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
