We are working with _**Tauheedul Islam Girls**_' _**High School**_ and Sixth Form College to find them a Permanent IT Technician.
- **Tauheedul Islam Girls**_' _**High School**_ is one of the highest performing schools in the country. Pupils are extremely well behaved and staff morale is high.

You will be the sole IT Technician on site, managing your own workload with the support and guidance of an experience Central IT Team who are always available at the end of the phone.

You will implement IT related projects, support the learning within the classroom during lessons and promote the safe and innovative use of IT across this high-profile school.

**Important Details**:

- Salary is £22,571 to £24,920 depending on qualifications and experience.
- Plus recruitment and retention allowance of £2,000 per year for the first 2 years.
- Based in Blackburn, Lancashire BB2 7AD.
- 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday.

**The IT Team**:

- You will be the sole IT Technician on-site supported by an experienced central IT team.
- You will report to the Headteacher and benefit from guidance from the National IT Manager.
- There are more than 30 schools in the trust and therefore a large network of IT Technicians you can share information and best practice with.

**The IT Technician’s Objectives**
- Support and implement IT related projects that help to modernise IT in line with current developments in technology.
- Support the learning within the classroom during lessons.
- Promote the safe and innovative use of IT, including outside of school - particularly with respect to the internet and social networking.

**The IT Technician Must Have Experience of**:

- Trouble-shooting software and hardware issues in a timely manner.
- Managing an IT network effectively.
- Procuring IT resources with value-for-money.
- Team working.
- Working in a fast paced, customer focussed environment.

**The IT Technician Must Have**:

- 5 A*- Cs at GCSE including English and Maths.
- Qualification or training relating to IT Technician role.
- Evidence of professional development.
- Personal resilience, persistence, and perseverance.
- A highly organised approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The highest levels of professional and personal integrity.
- Commitment to the pursuit of Continuous Professional Development by oneself and others
- A passionate belief in the Trust’s vision of 'nurturing today’s young people, inspiring tomorrow’s leaders.
- Commitment to support safeguarding and equality and diversity.

**The IT Technician Must be Able To**:

- Procure, install, and manage educational and office hardware and software.
- Manage the school’s IT network - including back-up and recovery of data.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to provide effective IT support.
- Promote the safe and secure use of the internet.
- Think logically and remain calm to solve problems under pressure.
- Manage own workload, prioritising based on the needs of the school.
- Deliver enrichment activity to small groups of learners and IT training to small groups of staff.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of school IT resources.

Experience of IT support within an educational setting is an advantage but not essential.
