The job in a nutshell

At Travelodge, in order to ensure our hotels are safe to operate, hotel activity is planned and resourced effectively and change project benefits are realised, we need to have the right reporting and data insights, and stakeholder engagement in order to consistently deliver a great experience to our customers and achieve our commercial KPIs.

The Operational Insights Lead role involves defining requirements, producing reports and insight, and engaging with key stakeholders cross functionally in order to drive actions and decisions to ensure a closed loop on activity planning & reporting ,and compliance activity that achieves a safe and secure hotel whilst delivering the perfect stay consistently.

The role will support the optimisation of our reporting function across Sleepy Hollow and Operations, leading 570 hotels in the UK.
- Some travel will be required

What you’ll be doing:

- Effectively engage and manage key stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives are measured and sustained
- Collating and presenting data with supporting analysis and insights to enable the achievement and embedding of core safety processes and project work
- Working cross functionally with the Central Operations team, broader Head office team and Field teams
- Supporting key business areas with business readiness planning, in particular supporting the peak trading, Housekeeping heroes recognition scheme and high impact launch activities
- Gather and maintain a wide array of data-related business processes and reporting (including entering information into existing databases)
- Creating new processes and programs to accurately input and store data
- Coordinate cross functional teams that gather data to enable report building, analysis and insights
- Produce reporting on a weekly and monthly basis, enabling key stakeholders and operational management teams to make informed decisions to ensure hotel activity is planned effectively, projects are delivered on time, benefit realisation, and hotels are safe to operate and drive performance
- Navigate multiple reporting systems to provide data accurately and consistently in a timely way
- Enable a culture of continuous development by maintaining a tracking and reporting structure where processes are simplified to encourage a method of keeping costs low in our hotel operations
- Updating process documentation
- Supporting business process improvement
- Building and maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels, promoting communication and innovation

What we’ll expect from you
- Excellent skills in Excel & Google platform
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ll be comfortable working with and presenting to all levels
- Strong data modelling and analysis experience
- Able to demonstrate a keen eye for detail and problem solving skills in a similar or comparable role
- Decision making based on analytical insight and experience
- Being self-motivated and driven and your ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Excel & Powerpoint to an advanced level would be desirable
- Project management and/or project reporting experience
