**Kitchen Assistant**

Job description

Main Duties:

- To assist the cook in providing catering services in accordance with current best practice
- To adhere to all the homes catering policies and procedures
- To prepare meal trays for rooms ensuring that they are laid appropriately with the required cutlery, drinking vessel and condiments as required
- To wash up after mealtimes and as required by cook
- Ensure any spillages are cleaned immediately and correct warning sign is put in place
- To undertake tasks as directed by the cook after having been assessed as competent to do so by the cook
- To empty kitchen bins as and when necessary, disposing of waste in the appropriate recycling bins
- Ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness; working to a cleaning schedule

We are looking for flexible people to join our team: - this position may include some weekend work.

Experience ideal but not essential

Please note all applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless medically exempt) to be able to fulfil this role

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22 per week

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour
