An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the expanding Strategic Property Services Team.

We are seeking a Strategic Planning and Promotions Partner to be responsible for the development, delivery, and compliance with the Corporate Asset Management Plan. You will lead on the identification and promotion of sites through the planning system to secure c7000 homes plus employment schemes on the council’s land. The successful applicant must have an extensive and demonstrable knowledge of planning and land use legislation and the development process.

Essential Requirements:

- Degree or equivalent in Land Management/ Surveying, Construction and Building strategy formulation, development, and implementation (or similar)
- Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or other equivalent professional body
- Experience of leading on the identification and promotion of sites through the planning system including achieving allocations through the local plan process and the preparation and submission and monitoring of planning permissions
- Experience of identifying opportunities to bring forward potential sites in advance of local plans or in response to shortfalls in supply
- Extensive and thorough knowledge of planning and land use legislation and the development process. Practical experience of making submissions to local plan consultations and examinations in public
- Ability to undertake development appraisals to support planning strategy and inform Sections 106 negotiations
- Knowledge and experience of business case development and an ability to develop and implement capital and revenue-based programmes and projects
- Leading on the acquisition and disposal of a wide range of land and property both leasehold and freehold and experience in bringing forward potential development sites including achieving land assembly
- Experience of leading on the acquisition and disposal of a wide range of land and property both leasehold and freehold and experience in bringing forward potential development sites.
- Experience in dealing with the appointment and monitoring of external agents.
- Relevant Local Government experience.
