**Job title**: Apprentice Clinical Administrator Annual Salary: £14,723 - £23,810 per annum (national minimum wage for your age) Location: Hospice Hours: Full time 37.5hrs per week Contract: Fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship, with permanent role upon successful completion of the course. You’ll gain hands-on experience across different clinical areas, learning a range of skills to help keep things running smoothly and make a real impact on patients and their families.
Wirral Hospice St John's provides free care and support for adult patients with life-limiting illnesses. The care we offer is based around what is important to them. Duties and responsibilities The apprentice will gain a breadth of knowledge of all areas of clinical administration at the Hospice, having the opportunity to work with different teams. Training and support will be provided via an industry recognised Level 3 Apprenticeship with a Level 2 Mediterm Award. The following are an example of the duties the apprentice may undertake. - To work with the different members of the clinical administration team to learn the various aspects of clinical administrative support within the hospice.
- Liaise with other organisations, departments and official bodies to assist in providing a high quality and efficient service, sharing information as appropriate. - To act as an ambassador for the hospice and promote its services. - To provide administrative support i.e. filing, scanning, photocopying and producing letters/documents.
- To communicate effectively and liaise with other professionals in a clear, concise and professional manner. - Take telephone calls from bereaved family and distressed patients, dealing with them empathetically and professionally. Skills, qualifications and qualities required: - A desire to learn and develop. - Effective written and verbal communication skills - An ability to relate to a wide range of people - Organised and work with attention to detail - Competent keyboard and computer literacy skills - Work independently as well as part of a team.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above to include English and Maths - or Functional skills equivalent. If no Maths GCSE, Functional skills in Maths will be offered and needs to be achieved alongside apprenticeship. The Hospice has several different departments including Finance, Fundraising, Human Resources, Volunteer Management and Education allowing the option of progression within the hospice.
