**The Opportunity**

Finatal are retained on a search for a Group Financial Controller to join an international and high growth e-commerce business which is scaling rapidly through organic and acquisitive growth. The business has trebled in size in the last 5 years and currentlygenerates revenues of c.£120m.

Following top-tier private equity investment, the business is now set to secure its position as a global leader in its sector and with the prospect of an IPO in the future, this is an exciting opportunity to join the business at a pivotal time in its growthjourney.

**The Role**

The CFO requires a technically focussed and experienced Financial Controller to be responsible for the core finance function (10+ FTE). The business is currently undergoing a growth-driven restructure to ensure it is fit for the future and this hire willbe a key driver of change and improvement. Alongside the change programme, ongoing responsibilities will include:

- Responsibility for all accounting and operational finance
- Acting as a mentor for staff, setting an example for all to follow
- Responsibility for corporation tax compliance and planning across all territories
- Responsibility for sales tax/VAT compliance across all territories
- Responsibility for other tax compliance across all territories
- Responsibility for all other non-tax compliance reporting
- Responsible for all compliance matters in relation to debt and equity providers
- Review and sign off all payrolls
- Day-to-day hedging transactions to manage foreign cash
- Manage the day-to-day funding requirements, using including the working capital facility as required
- Maintain appropriate controls and policies around receivables, purchasing, contracting, expenses and invoice approval
- Maintain appropriate accounting policies, making recommendations for changes to the CFO and Audit Committee
- Manage the audit process and statutory accounts (including drafting strategic report and other narrative requirements) process
- Attending Risk & Governance Committee meetings as the Finance representative, including maintaining all required risk, policy and controls registers
- Preparing Audit Committee and Board papers
- Maintain all statutory books with support from lawyers
- Support all insurance activities by preparing renewal paperwork, attending key meetings and being the day-to-day key contact with insurers and brokers
- Relationship owner for day-to-day banking and finance system advisors
- Day-to-day relationship owner for all audit and tax advisors, lawyers, hedging brokers and procurement partners
- Constant process improvement, reducing reporting time frames and increasing the quality of management information
- Liaise with third parties and advisors including banks, suppliers and accountants (including auditors and tax advisors)
- Other ad-hoc duties and projects as required.

**The Requirements**

Given the business’ ambitious growth plans, this opportunity will suit a driven future Finance Director with strong experience as a technically focussed Financial Controller in a business of significant scale, and experience managing teams within privateequity backed businesses.
- Fully qualified accountant (Likely ACA and practice trained) with 5+ years post-qualified experience
- A keen eye for detail and experience working for a private equity backed business
- A strong people manager
- An experience technical accountant, with exceptional knowledge of statutory and operational accounting
- Working knowledge of tax / VAT compliance across different territories
- Previously worked in an international business of scale, with a track record of developing and improving systems and processes
- A resilient, adaptable self-starter with the natural gravitas to engage with senior stakeholders
