Fowler Welch are a multi award winning supply chain specialist working with retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers, providing temperature controlled warehousing allowing consolidation, storage & transport service for chilled foods. We offer a tailored, fast and frequent logistics service with countrywide coverage.
Our Teynham site are now recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor on a full time, permanent basis.
Working hours: Nights - Wednesday to Saturday, 19:00 - 07:00
**Job Description**:
The purpose of a Warehouse Supervisor is to assist in the day-to-day running of the warehouse in line with company and customer standards. Also, to lead a team ensuring good productivity, loading accuracy and the overall performance of the warehouse is achieved to meet customer and company service levels.
Key Duties of a Warehouse Supervisor:
- To supervise the warehouse staff to ensure that warehouse disciplines are rigidly maintained.
- To be responsible for the achievement of daily KPI's in order that: daily targets, despatch requirements and delivery targets and loading accuracy is met.
- Ensuring all operatives are trained in the warehouse discipline of loading and to arrange retraining where necessary.
- Ensure that company standards of hygiene and housekeeping are achieved and taking appropriate action where it is not found.
- Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Rules are enforced in the warehouse, and any issues are reported in line with company procedures.
- Instrumental in conducting risk assessments and safe systems of work from scratch where appropriate
- Identifying procedures and or systems used which could be improved to help minimise warehouse errors and maximise staff productivity.
- To liaise accordingly with operations and all other departments and sites to develop strong working relationships.
- Manage day to day team issues including; holidays authorisation and arranging cover, timekeeping and absence monitoring, completion of daily time sheets.
- Manage performance/conduct issues of colleagues within the team, ensuring that they are resolved effectively and consistently in line with Fowler Welch company policy and procedures with support from HR and escalating to Warehouse Manager where necessary.
**Qualifications**:
- 3-5 years Supervisory experience within a warehouse environment is essential
- Facilities Management experience is desirable
- Knowledge of Warehouse Health & Safety legislation
- Knowledge of Operational methods and procedures relating to the FMC industry
- Knowledge of the local commercial marketplace
- Can demonstrate Stock management techniques
- Able to work as part of a team
- Results focused
- Able to demonstrate commitment to goals and values
- Excellent customer understanding
- Thoroughness/ good attention to detail
