**Business Support and Compliance Lead**

**Location**: Nidd, Harrogate

**Salary**: Up to £32k depending on experience

**Hours**: 40 hours (including paid breaks]

**Contract Type**: Permanent / Full-time. Part-time or job share would be considered

Are you a highly organised, proactive professional with a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of business processes? Taplanes are looking for a Business Support and Compliance Lead to join our manufacturing team and play a key role in many areas - including but not limited to - maintaining and improving our operational, quality, health and safety and compliance standards.

**About the Role**:
In this critical role, you’ll support the smooth running of our business operations, with a particular focus on compliance with internal processes, quality systems, and health & safety protocols. You’ll be a central point of coordination between departments, helping to uphold standards, manage documentation, and ensure our business operates efficiently and safely.

This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll need to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and keep a clear head when priorities change.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance, health & safety, and quality systems.
- Maintain up-to-date records, audits, and documentation relating to H&S and quality.
- Coordinate business support functions across departments, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement and help develop efficient, compliant workflows.
- Communicate clearly and collaboratively with teams to ensure procedures and standards are understood and followed.
- Work independently and as part of the wider team to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively.

**About You**:
**Essential Skills & Attributes**:

- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Proven experience working within a team environment.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, especially under pressure.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, numerate, and confident with documentation and systems.
- Calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressure.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing the mental demands of a busy role.
- Positive, reliable, and open to learning new skills.
- Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality, compliance, and safety.

**Might be helpful in the role**:

- Experience working in business operations or compliance in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Understanding of health & safety and/or quality management systems (ISO, HSE regs, etc.).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team-leading role.
- Local to the site or within a 45-minute commute.
- Holds a valid UK driving licence.

**Package**:Up to £32,000 per annum DOE + 25 days holiday + Private Pension Scheme + Career Progression
