**Producer**
Secret Cinema writes, produces and operates astonishing events based on much loved films and TV shows. Founded in 2007 we have over 50 shows to our name from Grand Budapest Hotel to Star Wars, Blade Runner to Romeo and Juliet, James Bond to Stranger Things. Our format is extremely flexible in terms of scale, location and source material. Where we are consistent is that we always put the audience at the heart of our productions. We have always struggled to capture the essence of our shows in a small number of words, however Baz Lurhman called us ‘_One crazy majestic night - part theatre, part cinema, part rave - all spectacular’ _
Over the last 2 years we have opened shows in London, Shanghai, Los Angeles and online, and we have a slate for the next 24 months that’s exciting and demanding.
**The role**:
We are recruiting for an experienced Producer to join our Production team. The role will lead the production of large-scale projects from conception through to delivery, balancing artistic aspirations with budget and time constraints; and work on development and budgeting for potential and future productions both in the UK and abroad. The role requires strong negotiation and contractual experience with an excellent understanding of how to facilitate and collaborate with creative teams. We are looking for someone with excellent project management, budgeting and people skills with a collaborative, calm and positive attitude to lead projects and teams.
As a Producer the key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the CFO, Production & Locations Director, Marketing and Creative Director to outline parameters, P&L and detailed production budget targets at the very start of a project.
- Work with the Show team to ensure initial concepts are fully researched, developed, budgeted & then costed through to the point of production.
- Ensure that the production is delivered to the highest possible standard; on time and on budget.
- Take the lead on overall recruitment, negotiating and contracting of the creative team, stage management, show operational staff and performers.
- Manage, lead and develop the Show production team.
- Compliance - working with the relevant unions to ensure Secret Cinema is compliant with industry standards and with the Health & Safety advisor to ensure we are following the guidelines to mitigate risks under build and show conditions.
- Be an excellent team player internally and ambassador for the business externally
- Brief the leadership team with regular updates on budget forecasts, timelines and risks.
**Key team**:
Production is a core specialism at Secret Cinema and you will be working closely with:
- Creative - key to the success of a show is how the Producer enables the Creative vision to be brought to life within budget and operational constraints. The collaborative and problem solving relationship with the Creative Director is crucial
- Production Management - as a Producer you will work side by side with our experienced Technical and Production Director and Production Managers. While the Producer has ultimate responsibility for the overall budget, the Lead Production Manager is responsible for budgeting, managing and delivery of the physical production budget, with the Producer leading on the creative, performance, operations and running budgets.
End to End - the Producer manages the overall Production from development to de-rig, with the support of the full team at Secret Cinema, including: Creative, Production, Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, Licensing, Art dept, Web team and Operations.
**Knowledge and experience**
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years of large-scale, live production experience as Lead Producer
- Proven track record of producing shows that have brilliant execution and have been delivered on time and within budget
- Project management experience, including day-to-day task management and delegation as well as experience dealing with multiple stakeholders
- Thorough understanding of the H&S regulations surrounding events of scale and a proven track record of delivering events safely.
- Keen communication and negotiation skills including ability to secure the best deals for the project
- Experience juggling multiple tasks with differing priorities
- Excellent forward planning skills and experience of problem solving in a live environment
**Desired**:
- Knowledge of the event industry and emerging technologies which can be utilised for production
- Beneficial to have experience using production management systems such as basecamp, smartsheets etc.
- Understanding of revenue streams and how their implementation can affect audience spend
- Experience of transferring and touring shows both locally and internationally
- Wide, varied and quality network of suppliers, talent, artists and vendors across all mediums
**The right fit**:
- We are an ambitious team, with the vision to take our shows to a global stage. Our team is highly passionate
