The Cyber and Domains Protection Team provide high quality relevant and actionable vulnerability, incident, threat and dependency information for the protection and resilience of the UK’s Public Sector’s digital services. We protect public sector domain name spaces such as “.gov.uk”, and ensure they remain stable, trusted, well managed and resistant to compromise. The team also helps protect the infrastructure tools and services associated with these domains.

**Job description**:
As a Service Designer you will:

- Play a critical role in the design of cross Public Sector services that protect organisations from cyber security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Use research and analytics to understand users needs, design and prototype solutions that meet these needs, identify service failures and test different designs
- Design services that deliver value through a blend of digital and human channels
- Design collaboratively and in the open, engaging your whole team with the design process and adapting it if necessary
- Champion accessibility and inclusion, consider the impact of new technologies and ensure that designs meet legal requirements
- Collaborate with designers in other teams and departments, reviewing each other's work and developing shared patterns
- Work effectively in a multidisciplinary, agile environment, adapting quickly to changes in requirements, priorities or user needs
- Utilise your skills and expertise on other projects or other aspects of this project during your engagement should our organisation’s priorities change

**Person specification**:
We’re interested in people who have:

- experience of successfully designing services that are deployed across a large number of organisations or business units
- experience in agile working practices, adapting to iterative feedback and prioritising tasks based on user and business needs
- experience in designing and testing complex user interfaces, using prototyping techniques to validate and refine designs
- experience in designing and testing services delivered by teams of specialists working with client organisations
- experience successfully supporting several services or projects simultaneously
- an understanding of cyber security risk and government cyber security best practices
- experience of working according to the Service Manual
- experience of working in government, public sector or charity sector organisations
- excellent planning and organisational skills
