To maintain our high standards, we are looking for a dedicated Welfare Officer to join our team and help provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of our visitors.
**Job Overview**:
As a Welfare Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and welfare of our customers during their time at Heaven. You’ll be responsible for providing support and assistance to our guests, particularly during busy night shifts, and ensuring that the venue remains a safe, enjoyable place. The role will involve providing help in various situations, from offering assistance to those in need, managing medical emergencies, to helping people get home safely after their night out.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Customer Safety & Welfare: Actively monitor the well-being of customers throughout the venue, ensuring that everyone is safe and enjoying their time responsibly.
- Incident Management: Respond quickly and effectively to any incidents, whether they are medical emergencies, conflicts, or intoxication-related issues.
- Support for Vulnerable Guests: Offer support to guests who may be feeling unwell, disoriented, or in need of assistance getting home safely.
- Safe Departure: Assist guests in arranging safe transport home or helping individuals find the appropriate routes home.
- Communication: Work closely with other staff members, security, and emergency services to ensure that all safety measures are in place and that any potential risks are addressed proactively.
- Shift Coverage: Primarily working weekend nights, with the ability to work weekday shifts.
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- Experience: Previous experience in welfare, customer service is preferred but not essential.
- (preferred) First Aid Certified: A valid first aid qualification is preffered.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage with a diverse range of people, offer clear guidance, and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess situations quickly, make decisions under pressure, and resolve issues with care and professionalism.
- Team Player: Work collaboratively with bar staff, security, and other team members to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Flexible & Reliable: Ability to work nights, weekends, and weekdays. A flexible attitude to working hours is essential.
- Calm & Compassionate: A calm demeanor and empathy for others are key to being successful in this role.
