**The Role**

Wessex Internet are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and customer-oriented Network Planning Surveyor who can join and strengthen our ever-growing Planning and Design Team.

The Network Planning Surveyor will work alongside our Construction & OSP Team and Network Planning Team. Reporting into the Planning Manager, your role will be to support the Geographic Information System (GIS) by recording the availability and suitability of utilising 3rd party infrastructure as well as providing new build installation documentation.

Please note that this role involves field work, which will include working outdoors, standing for long periods and, often, walking long distances.

**Responsibilities**
- Surveying 3rd party utility infrastructure
- Conduct duct and chamber inspection to determine feasibility for use
- Validate network designs and report potential threat to delay of project roll out
- Deliver Survey information, results and options to Planning Manager
- Wessex Internet require you to uphold HSE rule and work safely at all times in accordance to policy/procedure and Law related to the workplace and adhere to appropriate PPE where required.
- Supervise and report contractor survey, when needed, to offer a full TRR intrusive survey

**Requirements**:

- Fibre Network design, construction and/or installation
- Overhead and underground knowledge of network usage essential
- FTTP service delivery experience within telecoms industry
- Network Survey experience
- Experience with operating mobile devices (tablets)
- NRSWA Operative Unit 2 qualification
- SA001
- SA002 BT Accreditation Underground Safety
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of systems
- Knowledge of GIS and Vetro an advantage but not essential as full training will be given
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Organised, professional and proactive approach to work
- Ability to work alone as well as in a strong team environment
- A high level of diplomacy and a customer focused approach to tasks
- Excellent time-management skills
- Flexible approach and positive attitude to work
- Reasonable fitness level - ability to walk and stand for extended periods outdoors in all weather conditions

**Salary**:£25,000 - £35,000 per annum, DOE

**Role Type**: Full Time/Permanent

**Hours**: 40 hours per week

**Location**: Office based near Blandford Forum, Dorset and various survey locations

**Holiday**: 25 days plus bank holidays
