Design-delivery Technology Lead

Stantec's Global Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team are currently seeking a Design-Delivery Technology Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Global Design/Delivery Technology group, spearheading our digital transformation in design automation, computational design strategies, and BIM technologies by providing guidance, technological vision, and solution development. This role can be based anywhere in the UK.

Our Digital Technology & Innovation team is composed of digital experts who conduct research and development to keep our teams—and our client’s projects—ahead of the technological curve. We implement established technologies and find emerging solutions for all business lines (Buildings, Energy & Resources, Environmental Services, Infrastructure, and Water), bridging existing knowledge domains and facilitating the integration of powerful tools and methods. our goals are to digitalize our organization, support Stantec’s digital transformation, and to increase the capacity of our designers, engineers, and scientists, providing higher-quality results and solutions to our clients.

Design-Delivery Technology group also engages in research & development and provides guidance and oversight as a center of excellence for the business. This includes engaging in new product research & testing and the incubation of design automation, digital twin, and BIM-related ideas that arise from around the company.

We are looking for a results-driven Design-Delivery Leader, who will:

- Lead, monitor, and supervise the Design-Delivery team, aligning the group to the Digital Technology and Innovation goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the group to perform at their optimum, working efficiently together and maximizing the team’s potential.
- Motivate and inspire the Design-Delivery group by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, collaboration (both within the Design/Delivery group across the broader DTI team as a whole) and demonstrates flexibility.
- Display excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships with the team and across the organization.
- Understand the business strategy and work with business leaders to identify and prioritize problems that design automation, digital twin, BIM, and CAD technologies are suited to solve. Effectively communicate these ideas to others and be a collaborative partner to our business line stakeholders and team members.
- Consult and lead on design/delivery technology and custom solutions for the company. Help to incubate innovative design/delivery ideas that flow through the business.
- Assist on initiatives and efforts, as part of a collaborative team, with your BIM, CAD, digital twin, and computational design expertise.
- Ensure alignment on short-term delivery goals and long-term project roadmaps with clear articulation of expected value and how the work is to be prioritized.
- Assist with the development of documentation, standards, best practices, and workflows for design/delivery hardware/software in use across the business.

You will have a proven record as a team leader and expert in the field of design/delivery technology and will serve the entire company as a member of the Innovation Office’s Digital Technology & Innovation team.
- You are passionate about helping architecture, engineering, and science business lines drive their success utilizing design/delivery technology and design automation.
- Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
- Ability to anticipate and identify business line stakeholder’s needs and synthesize them into concepts and solutions.
- Be able to tell the story of how design/delivery solutions are positively impacting stakeholders.
- Innovative, ability to imagine new solutions to any problem.
- Ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical people. Passion to give others an advantage of understanding by using accessible language.
