**Summary**: We are looking for a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our complex and growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable,highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

The role is within the Network Operation Centre team for LAN/WAN technical support engineer and reporting to the IT & Network Services Manager.

This role will involve a variety of tasks for our customers and the duties will include systems design, implementation, and subsequent support. You will be responsible for developing the detailed configuration designs, testing implementation and integrationplans which allow the solution to be delivered. You may be involved in pre-build and the early stages of on-site implementation and providing post-sales support. It is an office-based role although you will be required to attend customer sites or Data Centresoccasionally.

**Role Specific Responsibilities**:
- Provide 1st -2nd line network infrastructure support. This will include but not limited to configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Provide Level-1/2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issueswith switching technologies
- like STP, VLANs, VTP.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Good understanding and troubleshooting skills on the Optical Network and fibre connections, Optical interfaces, SFPs/ GBICs and etc.

- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Plan, design, and implement networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with customers for installation of such items as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Provide technology demonstrations and updates to both internal and external clients, in order to improve their understanding of the marketplace and portfolio and solutions.
- Develop comprehensive User Acceptance Tests, in conjunction with the client, which will enable client acceptance and financial sign-off to be achieved.
- Take ownership and monitor the progress of ongoing and escalated cases through to resolution.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

1. Take responsibility for creating and maintaining installation procedures for new products.

2. Maintain in-depth knowledge and records in relation to assigned projects, providing prompt and accurate information, advice and guidance to colleagues and Clients.
