**SENIOR DATA ENGINEERING MANAGER
BIRMINGHAM
£85000 - £95000**

I am looking for a data engineering manager to oversee a sizeable team whilst supporting strategy, direction, and growth. You will work as a technical leader and mentor with regular stakeholder interactions up to director-level.

**THE COMPANY**

This is a large telecoms company that is experiencing a huge growth period across its technology function. This particular team marries technical and commercial considerations to keep customers connected through a range of market-leading products.

**THE ROLE**

In this role, you will:

- Manage a big team and guide career and development
- Work closely with the senior leaders across the business (technical and non-technical) to achieve goals and inform important decisions
- Encourage best practice, and suggest optimal technical approaches
- Drive innovation and change, and contribute to architectural strategy
- Promote data as a product, identifying opportunities and risks

**SKILLS REQUIRED**

To be successful in this role you will need:

- Experience in a data engineering leadership role
- Knowledge and use of cloud computing (GCP, AWS or Azure), Python and SQL
- Significant experience in leading and coaching members of a team
- Excellent business acumen
- Influential and confident communication skills for stakeholder management
