An exciting opportunity has become available within the Information Governance Team for a full time Information Governance Officer working 37.5 hours per week, but we're happy to discuss part time hours too.

We are looking for a self starter that loves a challenge and is willing to learn and contribute to our fast paced and proactive team.

You will be joining a small but busy team that are responsible for Subject Access Requests as well as Clinical Coding (full coding training will be provided).

You will also be contributing to the Information Governance compliance for all Trust projects and service developments.

The team work a mixture of office and home working, dependent on the needs of the service.
- Acting on correspondence - responding to, or referring to the appropriate person
- Providing routine advice on areas of knowledge/expertise, in a manner relevant to the audience and topic area (i.e. patients, staff, solicitors, complexity)
- Liaising with partner services and organisations
- Preparation/completion of routine documents, including letters, reports, presentations and forms
- Assisting patients/clients/relatives during incidental contacts

- Acting on correspondence - responding to, or referring to the appropriate person
- Providing routine advice on areas of knowledge/expertise, in a manner relevant to the audience and topic area (i.e. patients, staff, solicitors, complexity)
- Liaising with partner services and organisations
- Preparation/completion of routine documents, including letters, reports, presentations and forms
- Handling telephone queries
- Assisting patients/clients/relatives during incidental contacts
- Providing support to the comprehensive Trust wide clinical coding function to meet clinical coding standards
- Resolving data collection and quality issues
- Accessing the weekly coding report which lists the uncoded finished consultant episodes (FCEs)
- Checking discharge summaries from the uncoded report daily
- Scrutinising the discharge summaries if there are any issues with the primary diagnosis and the co-morbidities diagnosis and contact the relevant clinician
- Acting on own initiative to chase all uncoded episodes
- Providing administrative support to other members of the Information Governance Team in achieving compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations
- Supporting the Health Records & Information Governance Manager on a day-to-day basis as required

1. The role will require capacity to make decisions, which may require consideration of a range of options, such as: - Judgements on how to deal with enquiries, patients/carers/external contacts
- Prioritising work, resolving conflicting diary appointments and schedules

1. Responsible for data entry, text processing or storage of data compiled by others, utilising paper or computer-based data entry systems. Particular systems used in this role are detailed under ‘Specialist/Technical requirements’. This may include activities such as: - Producing statistical reports
- Maintaining information systems

The role will require use of VDU equipment for a substantial proportion of time and does require advanced keyboard skills.
1. Understanding of a range of routine work procedures some of which may fall outside of the immediate work area. To be guided by precedent and clearly defined occupational policies, protocols procedures and codes of conduct relevant to work area. Work is managed rather than supervised.
2. Planning and organisation of straightforward tasks, activities or programmes. This may include activities such as: - Maintaining an effective ‘bring forward’ system
- Co-ordinate programmes of work (e.g., prioritising work, resolving conflicting schedules)

2. To undertake surveys or audits, as necessary to own
