Hampstead, United Kingdom Kids Charity Full time

**Volunteer Opportunity: Stay and Play Assistant (Specialist)**
**Organisation**: Kids
**Contract**: 6 hours per week, term-time
**Location**: Camden

Do you have a few hours to spare and a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities? As a **Stay and Play Assistant** volunteer, you'll play a pivotal role in helping children and young people with disabilities reach their full potential. This rewarding opportunity not only allows you to gain valuable experience but also empowers you to contribute to a cause that truly matters.

At Kids, we are dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), young carers, and their families. Our mission is to create an inclusive world where every child, regardless of their challenges, has equal access to opportunities for growth and development. Through our comprehensive support, we enable disabled children to advocate for their rights and enjoy a fulfilling childhood.

**Role Overview**:
This role is ideal for a parent, carer, or family member in Camden who has previously benefited from Kids services and is looking to re-enter the workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Senior Portage Practitioner in setting up, delivering, and tidying up Stay and Play sessions as part of a collaborative team. You will help create a fun and engaging environment for children under 4 with disabilities or additional needs, such as autism, learning, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
- Support the Portage Home Learning Practitioners in developing activities that promote a well-rounded approach to play and developmental growth.
- Welcome parents and children with warmth and professionalism, fostering a positive and supportive relationship with families.
- Encourage children's growth through creative, adventurous, and imaginative play, ensuring they make the most of the resources and opportunities available in a safe, nurturing environment.

By volunteering with Kids, you'll make a direct impact on the lives of children with SEND, helping to give them the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
