**Job Purpose**
The Technical Training Developer will lead the creation, development, and implementation of best-in-class automotive technical training materials predominantly for the Genesis Brand, aligning and building on our existing Hyundai curriculum.
This role will involve engaging with internal teams, the authorised repairer network, and affiliate partners (e.g., Genesis Motor Europe) to design and deliver an innovative technical training curriculum from Certified through to Expert and Master levels. The goal is to upskill repairer staff, through engaging, effective, and measurable learning solutions that support excellence in technical knowledge and customer service delivery. The role will focus on designing both digital and face-to-face training programs, ensuring they align with brand standards and evolving technological trends. You will play an active role in assessing the effectiveness of training, identifying areas for improvement, and continuously innovating training delivery methods.
There may be a need to travel in the UK, Europe and Internationally for seminars and Train the trainer events where you will have an opportunity to represent GMUK in shaping the future direction of training. The role is suited to an individual who understands the evolving automotive landscape, future diagnostic requirements, connected vehicles and telematics along with experience with EVs and high voltage systems.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and monitor Industry leading technical training programs for repairer network staff, internal Genesis & Hyundai UK personnel, and Partner providers.
- Identify training needs using Training Needs Analysis (TNA), internal data, and feedback from internal teams, Repairers and affiliate partners.
- Design and deliver training content, leveraging tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, and other e-learning platforms.
- Continuously evaluate and refine training materials, ensuring they remain relevant, cost-effective, and aligned with business goals.
- Work with internal stakeholders to plan and promote technical training programs, ensuring maximum engagement and understanding across the network.
- Maintain strong relationships with affiliate partners and external agencies to ensure alignment with Brand standards and goals.
- Stay up to date with current and future training technologies, formats, and best practices, and introduce innovative solutions to the training curriculum.
- Support product launches and technical events through tailored training sessions and materials.
- Provide detailed reporting on training effectiveness, engagement, and return on investment (ROI).
- Visit Repairers and Partner Providers as required to assess training needs and ensure alignment with brand standards.
**Person Specification**:
Essential:
- Strong technical automotive background with experience in diagnostics, repairs, or technical systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both online and in-person.
- Proficient in the use of e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar platforms (or willingness to train).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
- Automotive training experience in a manufacturer or Retailer environment.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.
- Understanding of customer engagement metrics and data analysis. Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
