Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others? Do you have a keen interest in promoting wellbeing and enhancing the quality of life for individuals in a care home setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join West Berkshire Council as a Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator.
As the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the provision of a stimulating and engaging environment for residents at Willows Edge Care Home. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering a varied programme of activities and events to cater to the interests and needs of the residents
- Promoting physical and mental wellbeing through the organisation of exercise classes, social gatherings, and other recreational activities
- Collaborating with external agencies, volunteers, and community groups to enhance the range of opportunities available to residents
- Conducting regular assessments to identify individual preferences and tailor activities accordingly
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or social care setting
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people and promoting their independence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, enabling you to effectively plan and coordinate a diverse range of activities
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach towards supporting individuals with varying needs
