**Purpose of Position**

To work alongside the Head of activities and wellbeing lead and encourage residents to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible.

To follow a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for residents to enjoy. To work with each new resident to understand their likes/dislikes, abilities and needs to carry out monthly reviews on activities for each individual resident.

To engage the local community into the daily lives of residents by initiating contact with local community groups enabling residents to partake / continue with hobbies and interests as desired.

**Shifts are 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday and one day during the week**

The role involves providing stimulating activities scheduled by the senior activities coordinator. The role also involves providing personal care to residents either while out in the community or within the home. if required housekeeping duties may also be allocated.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- To assist in the direct care provision of all aspects of the service users needs, which may include amongst others, personal care, medication administration, mobility, continence promotion, assistance with feeding, updating documentation, etc.
- Assist in activities within the Home.
- support with visiting
- To attend appropriate training programmes/courses as available, which will further existing knowledge.
