**About the role**: This is an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Consultant to join an enthusiastic team delivering fire safety services to a wide range of clients across the UK with the UK’s number one testing, inspection and compliance company.

Client focused and quality driven, we are a leading provider of Fire Safety Consultancy across the UK. Now we need an experienced Fire Safety Consultant to join our growing team on a zero hours contract working flexibly. The role involves delivering firerisk assessments, compartmentation surveys and ad hoc advice to our prestigious client base. We are looking for consultants who are home-based in the South West and can cover this area.

**You will**:

- **Conduct full and comprehensive fire risk assessments, and compartmentation surveys, as required by project briefs.**:

- **Identify hazards and associated risks, provide guidance to remove or reduce the risks to an acceptable level and manage the remaining risks.**:

- **Produce detailed reports, procedures and/or policies using SOCOTEC UK Limited (Fire Safety Practice) templates, in required timescales to meet project KPIs.**:

- **Help guide clients through the necessary statutory requirements to ensure compliance.**:

- **Provide fire safety training in accordance with project requirements.**:

- **Provide technical support to the Operations / Project Coordination Team, assisting with quotations and client queries.**

**About you**: We’re looking for a professional, dynamic and motivated individual with ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Communicative, organised, flexible and committed, you must also have:

- **Minimum 5 years’ current experience of conducting fire risk assessments.**:

- **Working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005**:

- **Full understanding of building regulations and its requirements for fire safety, & knowledge of relevant guidance documents.**:

- **Detailed knowledge of British Standards relating to fire safety & installations (fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire safety signage, fire extinguishers, suppression systems etc.)**:

- **Understanding and knowledge of the requirements for compartmentation within construction including floors, walls, doors, fire stopping installations, penetration sealing products & techniques and fire/smoke dampers.**
