Job Description
Due to continued growth and confirmed demand within our Water and Nuclear Energy sectors, we are keen to speak with
Cost Engineers (Practitioner and Senior Level)
to discuss forthcoming opportunities within our Advisory & Digital Solutions Capability.

You will be joining a growing consultancy team working on a variety of contracts within multiple sectors.

As a
Cost Engineer
, you will need to be commercially focused, confident in running your own project as well as working effectively within a team.

You will be required to undertake short-term or long-term commissions to address a variety of customer needs.

Candidates with a track record of cost management at pre and post contract; working on contracts through the development cycle to the delivery through the construction phase would be preferred.

Home-based, hybrid roles with office/site attendance as per business needs so flexibility to travel is essential.

Responsibilities

• Control, monitor, analyse and report cost related aspects for designated projects within a Portfolio.
• Ensure all cost and contract transactions on a project are understood and managed in an appropriate way.
• Continually monitor Project Risk and Change status to maintain current forecast.
• Liaise with Project team members and contractors with regards to progress and cost forecasting.
• Monitor, control and analyse the project cost information, identify variances, and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager with possible alternatives. Prepare specific reports to facilitate challenge and analysis to meet the project's specific needs.
• Challenge cost variances against the baseline plan with individual task leaders/contractors and/or outside stakeholder management as necessary to enable mitigation.

Essential
QUALIFICATIONS

• Understand the inter-relationship between time cost and commercial aspects of the project life cycle.
• Experience across whole project and programme lifecycle. (e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).
• Proficient in the interpretation of Earned Value Analysis.
• Excellent MS Office skills and well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience across whole project and programme lifecycle. (e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).
• Relevant Degree or to Degree level education.
• Suitable experience as a Cost Engineer
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance, UK Citizen or 5 years UK residency.

Desirable/Preferential/Advantageous

• Working knowledge of Primavera
• Experienced in the use of Finance and Project software.
• Working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Cross sector experience (Water/ Transport/ Energy/ Aviation/ Defence & Nuclear)
• APM – Foundation/ Practitioner
• APM Risk
• Project Planning & Control Foundation/ Practitioner
