You do not need any experience or particular qualifications to become a CAREProfessional. However, it would be useful to have some experience of working in a care setting, or interacting with older people. This could be personal experience of caring for a family member or voluntary experience. You will have a passion for supporting others and pride yourself on delivering an outstanding service. You will be reliable, trustworthy and respectful. You will enjoy building professional friendships and comfortable in spending time in the company of others.

Most importantly you will need to have 'values' in treating our clients with dignity, respect and person centred care. As a CAREProfessional, Once you've successfully completed your training, you’ll be carefully matched to your clients and asked to visit them in their own homes. Your role is to help them feel as comfortable as possible, support them with anything from shopping and cooking meals, to personal hygiene assistance, companionship and social company. It’s really important to be able to build up trust with the client you’re visiting so that they feel comfortable with you.
