Cardiff, United Kingdom Cardiff Council Full time

**About The Service**
The Environment directorate is an exciting place to work. Responding to the needs our residents and stakeholders, alongside legislative requirements, you will find the work fast paced and ever changing.
**About the job**
The role of a recycling communication officer is to be 'the voice' of Cardiff's recycling and waste service. This includes speaking with residents, community groups, schools and trade customers through a range of door knocking and community outreach sessions. Your conversations will include the correct presentation of waste, the benefits of recycling, how to reduce waste etc. You will also schedule and coordinate recycling collections from Community Recycling Zones, and help to provide key data, to develop Cardiff's waste strategy. This will include the completion of face to face surveys, on street monitoring and desk based research.
**What We Are Looking For From You**
We are looking firstly for someone who is passionate about the Environment. You need to be able to clearly explain how positive actions, from a recycling and waste minimisation perspective, will lead to overall improvements. You will need to be confident in speaking to a wide range of stakeholders, and not be afraid of an audience. You will have good organisation skills, and be able to contribute effectively as part of a team. You will need to be flexible, to meet the demands of the service.
