**The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity for a **Junior/Graduate/Trainee Project Engineer**to join our innovative Research and Development department, on a full
- time permanent basis, based in our Head Offices in Hinckley.

Working in a small but mighty team you will have the chance to develop your project engineering experience, with the opportunity to get stuck in and actively involved in diverse range of projects. To begin with, you will initially take full responsibilityof creating and maintaining our Bill of Materials known as BOM (our centralised source of information used to manufacture our products). You can think of BOM as a large numerical source of data used in every project that presents both engineering and financialviews of a product structure.

**A typical day in the life of ourJunior/Graduate/Trainee Project Engineerwill include**
- Daily management of the creation and maintenance of our Bill of Materials, ensuring that they remain current and valid with accurate quantity of parts, items and other materials required to make our product, and that any cost variances between estimates,BOMs and production data are investigated and reconciled.
- Ensuring client requirements and specifications are clearly understood and accurately reflected.
- Working closely with the Draughtsmen to translate product drawings into BOMs and routings.
- For new products; engage with Production Teams on a routine and on-going basis to identify changes and improvements in manufacturing methods and timings to be reflected in BOMs
- Since you will be a key holder for the engineering of our parts, you will need to work closely with various team members to signpost what colour parts are available, what raw materials are used and other BOM related queries.

**Training and Development**

We see a lot of potential within this role where you will eventually take full ownership of your own projects right from the initial formation and inception phase, all the way through to production

**What skills do I need for this role and am I suited to thisJunior/Graduate/Trainee Project Engineerposition?**

Ideally you will have project engineering or data analysis degree/recognised qualification. You may be looking for your first junior project engineering role or you may have experience in data analysis looking for your next step into project engineering.

Since you will be heavily involved in the maintenance of our Bill of Materials, you will need have strong numerical and data competence, with the ability to quantifiably analyse data to ensure our products are accurate and reflective of the components needed.

You will need to have excellent Microsoft Excel skills as an integral part of this role will see you exporting BOM's data into Microsoft Excel and perform comparisons, using formulas such as VLOOKUP and analytical tools on large data sets to aid in the creationof new products and identify predicted volumes of material usages.

Technical aptitude is key, as you will be required to read and understand technical drawings.
