Project Manager, Engineering

Hinckley, Leicestershire, United Kingdom Vestas Aircoil UK Ltd Full time

Bring technical precision and hands-on expertise to life in a role where craftmanship meets innovation.

At Xchanger Services, we are looking for a Project Manager to drive our diverse heat exchanger projects – someone who combines strong technical understanding with a passion for structure and collaboration. You'll be the driving force that turns complex ideas into reality and guiding projects from design through fabrication and delivery.

If you enjoy working closely with skilled engineers, finding smart solutions, and keeping multiple moving parts on track, this is a role where your mix of technical insight and hands-on mindset will shine.

About the role

As our Project Manager, you will take ownership of engineering and fabrication projects from start to finish – ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.

We are seeking someone with strong organisational skills and practical CAD capabilities, who is as comfortable coordinating projects as they are reviewing drawings. Previous heat exchanger experience is an advantage, but not essential – what matters most is your technical aptitude, eye for detail, and ability to drive results.

What you will be doing

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage projects within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Prepare, review, and update CAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support engineering and design teams with technical input and problem-solving.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and company procedures.

What we hope you bring

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once without losing focus on the details.
  • Ideally, you hold a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

What we offer

  • A supportive, close-knit team with decades of expertise.
  • The opportunity to work on diverse engineering projects that will challenge and develop your skills.
  • The best of both worlds - the expertise and agility of a small team, combined with the resources and stability of an international group.

We care deeply about finding the right team fit - someone who values collaboration, open sparring, and good company at our frequent curry nights.

Who we are

Xchanger Services, established in 1987 in the UK, has built over 30 years of expertise in the manufacture, overhaul, and repair of heat exchangers. In 2023, the company was acquired by Vestas aircoil A/S to join an international growth journey.

Xchanger Services is a close-knit group with many years of experience working on power stations, utilities and large industrial plants. What we share is our passion for what we do – always valuing quality in everything, whether it is heat exchanger manufacture, re-tubing, servicing or cleaning. Read more:
