We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic clinical or counselling psychologist to take on a senior role within the Inpatient and Acute Psychology Service.

The crisis psychology team in NELFT are at the forefront of national developments in inpatient and acute working and are actively involved in research. We are a supportive, dynamic and ambitious team and we are keen to recruit the right people who share our passion for working with people in crisis and our vision of contributing to best practice and national guidelines.

There will be scope for creativity and development of the service in line with the teams' values of putting service users, carers and co-production at the centre of what we do and working in a trauma informed way.

This post sits alongside other pathways within the wider crisis psychology service and offers an opportunity for close collaboration and joint working, as well as excellent leadership experience. The post holder will work under the guidance and supervision of the Strategic and Clinical lead. The post is for 32 hours weekly and will include clinical and supervisory responsibilities as well as operational leadership.

The post holder will provide operational and clinical supervision for psychologists working across the inpatient and crisis service as well as supporting the implementation of good practice guidelines. They will also be required to lead and contribute to service development and evaluation.

The post will involve both direct and indirect clinical work with service users, families and wider systems and will include providing specialist assessment, intervention and consultation to individuals and teams. Specifically, the postholder will offer clinical oversight of the pathway, carry a case load which includes working with service users who are on the directorates High Level Risk Report, as well as providing clinical consultation and support to teams with complex cases.

The post-holder will be required to undertake operational tasks to support service delivery and will represent the crisis psychology service at directorate level and in relevant trust-wide forums.

We offer excellent development plans including high quality and regular supervision and leadership mentoring and training. All members of the team are encouraged and supported to engage in activities in line with their area of interest.

**Applicants will have**:

- Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Extensive experience of working in an evidence-based way with clients presenting with severe mental health difficulties, people in crisis and their families and carers, ideally in an inpatient and acute setting.
- Extensive experience of working in a multi-disciplinary service context.
- Experience of providing clinical and operational management supervision, including undertaking appraisals and awareness of HR systems would be desirable.
- Experience or interest in addressing discrimination and inequalities, trauma-informed care and co-production is desirable.
