Clerical Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient and organised individual to join our Admin and Clerical Team within the Acute Division.

To declare empty beds/side room availability/observation beds/bed statuses/GP Admission/GP re-directs and latest bed statuses via telephone when required.

Arranges the booking, reception and follow up of outpatients for any clinician in accordance with the agreed requirements.

Completes all documentation and computer records.

Sends out all correspondence and deals with all relevant enquiries from patients, relatives, GPs etc before, during and after clinics.

Deals with any difficulties in relation to the administration duties, referring to a higher level if required and makes suggestions for improvement.

To manage casenote availability on patient admission if required.

To check demographic details are correct on admission and discharge utilising the summary care record when required.

To arrange transport for patients attending other hospitals/departments.

To answer the telephone, taking messages or transferring calls as appropriate.

To maintain bedside folder during admission with any paper documents that may be relevant to each patient.
