This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team achieving positive outcomes for service users of all ages who come into contact with the criminal justice system. The service is highly regarded by partner organisations and received national recognition when recently awarded the Howard League Liaison and Diversion Team of the Year award.

Funded by NHS England, we have 3 teams, based at the Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford Police Stations and teams covering Leeds and Bradford Magistrates and Crown Courts. The All Age Liaison and Diversion Teams are multi agency teams working within the criminal justice system with the aim of:

- Improving access to healthcare and support services
- Reducing inequalities in health care provision
- Improving decision making in the justice system
- Reduce re offending

The role of Mental Health Practitioner is integral to the team and involves identifying vulnerable adults and young people in contact with the criminal justice system, providing comprehensive assessments, preparing and presenting reports for Courts, linking with mental health treatment providers to establish referral and care pathways and directly supporting individuals to access and engage in a wide range of support and treatment services and third sector.

As a Mental Health Practitioner within the Liaison and Diversion service you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical practice with people of all ages with a range of mental health, learning disabilities, substance misuse and social vulnerabilities. In return we will ensure you are supported support in role and to progress with a programme of high quality clinical supervision, training and professional development opportunities.
