If so, Parker Franklyn is assisting a regional insurance business that is looking to appoint a Trainee Account Executive to its team in Wakefield. The company control circa £15m in written premium and have 16 people within the business. The MD is a time-servedinsurance professional that looks to build long-term client relationships, grow by appointing quality people with the right behaviours, and generously reward staff for their hard work and commitment. They invest heavily, in both time and money, to bring goodpeople through the ranks. Seldom will a business, especially in the current staff shortage market, commit the time and energy in developing staff into competent Account Executives/ Developers.
Your role will be to speak to businesses across a wide range of industry sectors, from warm leads, to ultimately obtain their business insurance. The prospective clients will be paying premiums from around £5k - £75k, with minimum income levels of £1.5k,so there will some interesting and challenging risks in there. You will be expected to visit your clients to build trust, and a long term relationships that you can cultivate over time. Also, you have the choice of either managing the clients through the policyperiod, as well as at renewal, or focusing purely on the new business aspect of the journey if that is your preference. You’ll receive a lot of support technically from the knowledgeable team in place, which will help drive your product understanding and competenceextremely quickly.
Experience wise, they are looking for someone that has some knowledge of commercial insurance, whether that is cross-class or just one specialist area, as they will be able to upskill you in other areas if required. You will be tenacious, proactive, andfocused on being the best you possibly can be, ultimately though, you will be a genuinely nice person that cares about solving your clients’/ prospects problems. The business will invest a lot of time and care in your development, so you’ll be someone motivatedto take advantage of this.
In return, you will receive a basic salary commensurate with your experience, so even seasoned Account Executives will be considered. There is a generous bonus structure which will give you the opportunity to earn 10% of any income generated from new businesswins, a nice carrot dangled for your hard work. Most importantly, for those eager to make the jump into an Account Executive role, you will get the support, time, and knowledge to be successful in your field - all in return for your hard work and commitment.
