**Job Summary**:
We are looking to recruit professional and reliable **Hospital Security Officers** to help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Chester Hospital. Working as part of the wider estates and facilities team, you will play a vital role in ensuring safety on-site, managing incidents, and providing a visible deterrent against antisocial or criminal behaviour.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide a consistent and reassuring security presence throughout the hospital.
- Carry out regular patrols of buildings, car parks, and grounds.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to incidents, alarms, or emergency situations.
- Prevent unauthorised access and ensure appropriate visitor control procedures are followed.
- Support clinical teams with managing difficult or aggressive individuals in a professional and non-confrontational manner.
- Monitor and operate CCTV and other security systems as required.
- Complete accurate incident and occurrence reports, maintaining clear records of any actions taken.
- Assist with the enforcement of hospital policies, including health and safety and fire regulations.
- Provide support during fire drills, evacuations, or major incidents.
- Collaborate with emergency services when necessary.

**Person Specification**:
**Essential**:

- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- Previous experience in a security or similar role (hospital or healthcare setting preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Professional appearance and demeanour.
- Physically fit and capable of patrolling large areas.
- First Aid at Work Certificate.

**Desirable**:

- Training in conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques (e.g. MAPA or PMVA).
- Understanding of safeguarding and patient confidentiality (NHS or similar standards).
- Familiarity with hospital or public sector security systems.

**Additional Information**:

- This role requires working shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Uniform and relevant training will be provided.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour
