**Job Title: Operations & Logistics Manager**
**Location: Coventry**
**Salary: £45,000 - £50,000**
**To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate your ability to do the following**:Distribution**
Manage the day to day running of both distribution centres, ensuring all orders are distributed within the service levels determined by the business.
Work with the IT and Operations Director to produce an accurate distribution budget for labour, freight and operations for both sites.
Produce monthly reports on key performance indicators.
Manage a continuous improvement programme for all distribution operations reducing error rates in line with KPI's.
Work as part of the College planning team to plan and organise the college kit season to ensure timely fulfilment of the agreed plan.
Responsible for compliance with Health & Safety regulations across the sites.
**People and processes**
Develop a flexible, trained, and motivated team.
Ensure the team 1-2-1 and appraisals are completed, and accurate.
Review all operational processes, equipment use and training.
Develop/implement a complete set of robust policies and procedures for all operational processes.
**Freight and Transportation**
Recommend the transport and freight requirements for the business, recommend the best third party and in-house transport model to meet the business requirements for all market channels.
Develop a costing model/matrix to ensure the most economical freight is selected for all orders.
**Inventory and Systems**
Manage the business inventory levels with the Trading department against targets set by the Board.
Work closely with the Commercial Director on inventory profile, aged and slow-moving stock, addressing order quantities relevant to bin size.
Manage a proactive and dynamic stock control function.
Responsible for stock level planning in the warehouses to deliver target service levels.
Responsible for all stock, movements, locations, bins and any third-party storage.
Introduce inventory management tools and techniques to calculate Min/Max levels, re-order points and buffer stocks for forwarding bins and replenishment.
Develop an auditing strategy that meets the auditor's requirements.
