This is an exciting opportunity to join Teesside Mind as an Appropriate Adult Project Support Officer. The role is part of the Appropriate Adult service, commissioned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), and delivered by a team of dedicated and skilled volunteers. You will play a key role in supporting the project’s delivery, ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive appropriate support during police procedures, and helping the team maintain the highest standards of service and care. Teesside Mind are proud to have been providing the Appropriate Adult service for over 10 years now. The service is commissioned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s (OPCC) and delivered by a team of dedicated and skilled volunteers. Our main focus is on ensuring a high-quality experience for whoever we meet and support. We have a good working partnership with police custody staff and the PCC, and this is integral to the delivery of the service.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Be a first point of contact for the day-to-day running of the service, including when the Team Lead is out of the office.
- Organise the Appropriate Adult rota and ensure full coverage.
- Liaise with local police stations and custody management.
- Respond to enquiries from those that use the service.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision for volunteers.
- Work with the Team Lead in the volunteer recruitment process including interviewing, organising references and DBS checks.
- Work with the Team Lead in the provision of volunteer training that meets the standards set by the National Appropriate Adult Network and maintain training records.
- Produce quarterly data for KPI reports using excel.
- Use a Data Management System to input volunteer monitoring forms.
- Develop and maintain links with local community groups, and attracting potential new volunteers, positively representing Teesside Mind at all times.
- Work with the Team Lead in service design of the project to monitor and improve processes.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,661.67 per year

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
