Creative Seamstress

**ROLE PROFILE**
**The WAY**

Creating tailor-made highly specialised garments, working closely with the Creative Director to bring her designs & concepts to life ensuring finished garments are made and to the highest quality.

**Responsible for**:

- Working alongside the product team and Creative Director to bring concepts to life/making initial samples in house.
- Reviewing and advising on fabric properties to ensure that they are appropriate for the chosen design.
- Ensuring finished garments made and to the highest quality.
- Producing detailed make up and construction packs to support GT team.
- Liaising & build relationships with offshore factories to ensure that we deliver premium garments.
- Answering queries on technical specs or technical questions that may arise during development.
- Reviewing samples vs tech packs to identify any comments which have not been followed.
- Continuous Improvement - constantly researching new techniques and work closely with GT team to focus on how to improve design features to improve fit and reduce returns
- Supporting in the resolution of any issues with the makeup of garments.
- Working with the GT team to ensure all products are delivered from concept to bulk of the highest quality.

**Accountable for**:

- Deciding on appropriate finishes, construction and help choose trims, supplementary fabrics for each piece offering high end luxury finishings.
- Creating high end garments with luxury finishes on construction and makeup.
- Bringing the vision of the Design and Creative Director to life from concept to garment,
- Ensuring finished garments are made and of the highest quality.
- Construction consistency & setting standards across all product areas of the business.
- Delivery to critical path, escalating issues where timeline is in jeopardy.

**Essential Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience within a seamstress role within the couture industry.
- Ability to control fabric and push design boundaries.
- Knowledge of how to improve the quality of garments to a higher level.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret patterns and accurately work with measurements
provided
- Experienced in dresses, jumpsuits, tailoring and soft separates.
- A thorough understanding of couture garment design and construction.
- An eye for detail and meticulous working standards.
- Strong understanding of corsetry, structure and garment construction and patterns.
- Confident in handling luxury fabrics.
- Excellent knowledge of couture finishes.
- Have a delicate handle for fabrics when sewing and achieve the utmost highest quality possible whilst being precise.
- Ensure all products made in house measures to pattern and help to prep for fit sessions.
- Excellent communicator - the ability to communicate technical concepts and ensure understanding.
- Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers - communicating with suppliers where English is not their first language/

- The ability to build relationships and negotiate with ease.
